5th storey: temple 5S
The southern temple is devoted to the rDo rje gdan (Vajrāsana, the Diamond Throne of Bodhgayā). The statue of Thub pa chen po (Mahāmuni) in its center (gr.pl.No. 1), flanked by Maitreya to his right (gr.pl.No. 1a) and Avalokiteśvara (Padmapāṇi ?) to his left (gr.pl.No. 1a’). Statues flanking the three figures in the centre on both sides (gr.pl. 1b and 1b’): The Buddhas of the Ten Directions in the upper section. The lower and the intermediate sections are occupied by statues of the arhats in rocky caves. Paintings, entrance wall right: Prajñāpāramitājñānamaṇḍala and Kamadhātviśvarimaṇḍala (gr.pl.No. 2); Painting above the entrance: Kāyavākcittaguhyālaṃkāravyūhamaṇḍala (gr.pl.No. 3); Paintings, entrance wall left: Prajñāpāramitāsādhanamaṇḍala and Prajñāpāramitāpauṣṭikamaṇḍala (gr.pl.No. 4). The maṇḍalas are drawn from the Shes rab pha rol tu phying pa tshul brgya lnga bcu (Prajñāpāramitānayaśatapañcaśatikā) and from the De bzhin gshegs pa thams cad kyi sku dang gsung dang thugs-kyi gsang-ba rgyan gyi bkod-pa zhes bya-ba rgyud-kyi rgyal po (Sarvatathāgatakāyavākcittaguhyālamkāravyūhatantrarāja).
