4th storey: chapel 4E1

Chapel devoted to the Vidhyādharas who originated the bKa’ brgyad tradition, is occupying the N-part of the E-projection of the sKu ’bum. W-wall: Statues of Guru Rin po che (Padmasambhava, center) (groundplan No. 1), flanked by the Tibetan ḍākinī Ye shes mtsho rgyal (to his right) (groundplan No. 1a), and the Indian princess Maṇḍāravā (to his left) (groundplan No. 1a’); N-wall: Painted sPyan ras gzigs phyag bzhi pa (Caturbhuja Avalokiteśvara) (groundplan No. 2). S-wall: Painted rGyal ba Shākya thub pa (the Jina Śākyamuni) flanked by Śāriputra and Maudgalyāyana, surrounded by śravakas and the masters of the bKa’ brgyad tradition (groundplan No. 3). Around Avalokiteśvara and Śākyamuni, as well as on the narrow stripe of the wall to the right of the entrance (E-wall), there is a crowd of disciples displaying gestures which are typical of the exposition and argumentation of the doctrine.
