4th storey: chapel 4S1

Chapel devoted to Atiśa and the bKaʾ gdams pa school.
This chapel is devoted to the great Bengalese scholar Atiśa (982-1054), also simply known as Jo bo (the Lord). N-wall: Atiśa image (center) (groundplan No. 1) flanked by the translator of Nag tsho, Tshul khrims rgyal ba (right) (groundplan No. 1aʾ, and the teacher of ’Brom, namely ’Brom ston pa rGyal ba’ i ’byung gnas (left) (groundplan No. 1a). The E-wall is painted with the figure of sPyan snga’ ba Tshul khrims ’bar (1038/43-1103) (groundplan No. 2). On the W-wall a painted caption tells us about the figure of the kalyaṇamītra dGe bshes Po to ba Rin chen gsal (1031-1106), abbot of Rwa sgreng, the monastery founded by ’Brom ston (groundplan No. 3).
