3rd storey: chapel 3Wa
The chapel opens to the W-side and is set symmetrically with respect to the E-W axis of the sKu ’bum. S-wall (groundplan No. 1): Statues of ’Jam dpal ye shes sems dpa’ (center), the form of the white six-headed Mañjuśrī. Mañjuśrījnānasattva, flanked by the bodhisattvas rDo rje sems dpa’ (Vajrasattva), white, and rDo rje ñi ma (Vajratejas), yellow. The E-wall (groundplan No. 4), to the right of the statues, illustrates the deities of the maṇḍala which symbolizes the synthesis of the various families of the Vajradhātu (rDo rje dbyings) according to the ’Phags ’Jam dpal gyi mtshan yang dag par brjod pa’i ’grel pa. The N-wall (groundplan No. 3), opposite the statues, is painted with the maṇḍala of ’Od dpag med dbugs dbyung. The W-wall (groundplan No. 2) is painted with the image of rNam par snang mdzad dbugs dbyung, white, with one head.
